DorxDesk does one job properly: getting you onto your own machine and moving what you need between the two.

  • Remote desktop

    Live screen streaming with hardware-accelerated encoding, tuned for a responsive picture rather than a perfect one.

  • Mouse & keyboard control

    Full input control when the host grants it, with the local user always able to take the pointer back.

  • File transfer

    Files stream over the session itself. Every file is checksummed as it arrives and only given its real name once the digest matches.

  • Drag & drop

    Drop files or whole folders straight onto the remote view. Folder structure is preserved, empty folders included.

  • Clipboard file paste

    Copy in Explorer, press Ctrl+V on the remote view, and the files go across. Ordinary text paste still reaches the remote machine.

  • Trusted devices

    Devices you have connected to before are remembered, with their key pinned, so a changed key is something you are told about.

  • Session permissions

    Screen, keyboard, mouse, clipboard and file transfer are separate grants. Give only what the session needs.

  • Host-controlled sessions

    The host approves every connection and can change or revoke any permission mid-session. A revoked grant stops what is already running.

  • Direct WebRTC connectivity

    Where the network allows it, the two machines talk to each other directly and the traffic never passes through a server.

  • TURN fallback

    When a direct path cannot be established, the session relays through TURN instead of failing. It keeps working on awkward networks.

Getting started

Three steps, once.

  1. Install on both machines

    Run the installer on the computer you want to reach and on the one you are reaching from. It installs to Program Files and keeps your settings between updates.

  2. Share the device ID

    Each installation gets its own nine-digit ID. Give it to the machine that will be connecting, or save the device as trusted so it is one click next time.

  3. Approve and connect

    The host sees who is asking and what they are asking for, ticks the permissions to allow, and the session starts.
